- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk

- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
For the Cream Cheese Glaze:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Glaze:
- In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to whip cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Add confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract, and milk, and beat until the glaze reaches a smooth consistency. Set aside.
- Make the Waffle Batter:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
- In a medium bowl, mix buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and apple cider vinegar until smooth. Stir in the red food coloring.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, whisking until the batter is smooth.
- Cook the Waffles:
- Preheat your waffle iron according to its instructions and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
